"That Valentine’s Day, Those Cosmic Disasters, and That Unexpected (Maybe) Kiss." Chapter One
Chapter One Is Live: Welcome to That Valentine’s Day
There are beginnings that whisper. And then there are beginnings that crash into your life with the elegance of a cosmic disaster.
Ashley’s story starts exactly like that.
Today, I’m excited to share the first chapter of my new Valentine’s Day novella, That Valentine’s Day, Those Cosmic Disasters, and That Unexpected (Maybe) Kiss. A story about impulsive choices, destiny’s strange sense of humor, and the moment a girl who has always lived in the background finally steps into her own light.
💘 What awaits you in Chapter One
Valentine’s Day. A French restaurant. A boyfriend who should have stayed home. And a girl who has no idea that her life is about to turn upside down.
In this opening chapter, Ashley sits at a table meant for two, feeling more invisible than ever. But the universe has other plans.
A stranger dances. A spark flickers. And for the first time, Ashley imagines a life that isn’t made of compromises, silence, or shrinking herself to fit someone else’s expectations.
It’s the beginning of a transformation she never saw coming and that’s exactly why it matters.
🌙 Why this chapter sets everything in motion
Chapter One is where:
destiny starts shuffling the cards
the planets begin to align
Ashley’s heart stumbles in the most unexpected way
It’s tender, ironic, a little chaotic… and full of that magic that only arrives when life decides to intervene.
Chapter 1
Valentine's Day with a thrill
Girls, something's not right
here. What? Well, I'm sitting alone like a mannequin in a shop window, waiting
for my boyfriend for a good twenty-five minutes at the restaurant.
And you're saying, "A
delay can happen..." No, not today. Why? Because today is Valentine's
Day. And for once in my life I would have liked to be the last one to
arrive, the one who makes you wait, who enters triumphantly accompanied by the
maître, with all eyes on me as if I were the protagonist of a romantic film.
Vanity? Of course I am. After
two hours at the hairdresser's and a loan taken out to buy my dress, I wanted
to be the diva. Just for one night. I had planned it down to the tiniest
detail: I go in, he looks up, lights up seeing me, I sit down. Curtain.
Instead here I am, with a
martini and an olive that has now asked for early retirement from the glass. My
hairstyle is falling out, my dress
is losing its charm and I keep staring at my
mobile phone. But he, the phenomenon, doesn't answer.
'Applause, thank you,
thank you... yes, that's me, the Valentine diva. Too bad my audience is an
olive and a waiter who now looks at me with pity."
